Vuelven nuestros mods favoritos a la estepa ibérica!!! Los mejores herederos del legado de THE JAM han decidido volver a la carga después de unos años de inactividad, a la vez que su carismático líder LUKAS SHERFEY se enfrascó en su proyecto de northern soul en solitario. Pero esta vez vuelven para quedarse! El sonido tan setentero, sus letras cargadas de rabia positiva y crítica social y política, y sus enganchosas melodías han convertido a THE MOVEMENT en una de las bandas referencia del punkrock europeo del nuevo siglo. A pesar de surgir de una país, Dinamarca, del que se oye más bien poco, la banda ha sabido superar la barrera geográfica que representa vivir ahí arriba, y ha girado durante la primera década del siglo XXI casi sin parar por toda europa numerosas veces, llegando a cruzar medio mundo hasta Japón en 2006, donde hicieron una corta gira de 4 fechas.

This was our last tour this summer! It has been great, thanks to all you people who came and had a good time!
It was so nice to see that The Movement still has a big audience out there, and that we can play punk/ska festivals and MOD-events, political oriented party’s and regular clubs and venues, without having any feling of being misplaced!
It’s like The Movement works everywhere!

We will start to write and rehearse new material for a future album now!
The next tour will be in Spain in September, and in October we will have our big Europe tour!

Thanks to all you people who came to our shows this weekend!
Knust in Hamburg St.Pauli was great! We are happy that so many people showed up and had a good time!
It’s always a nice experience to visit the people and the bars in St.Pauli, it gives a feeling of unity and strength!
Glaubitz open air was just perfect! We have been there before and it was fun as always!
East Germany rule okay!
The Mighty Sounds Festival in the Czech Republic was the best thing for us in a long time!
So many nice people and such a good positive vibe on the whole festival area, thumbs up!
We are now working on a show in Prague for the October tour, it’s a “must” after the Mighty Sounds!

The Movement is back with a new powerpop release! This album contains 4 hit songs including:

“A Song To The Movement” which explain the longing need to start the band again, since The Movement’s break-up in 2007.

“Let Me Love You” is a classic up-tempo soulstomper, right to your feet and straight to your heart!

“Since You’ve Been Gone” makes You think about Wilson Pickett, but with raw Rickenbacker guitar sound and rock’n roll beat!

“I Can Hardly Live Without You” is a two minute and twenty seconds powerpop song, no crap, just a song with a catchy chorus.

The Movement is as powerful and melodic as ever, the dream continues, and this EP is only the beginning. The Movement will be seen on stage all over Europe the next years:

THE MOVEMENT IS BACK!

The Movement is now ready to hit the road and will play their first show after the break November 3rd in Hannover at Bei Chez Heinz.

They will continue touring around Germany in november & december, see the whole tour HERE

The line-up is:
Lukas Sherfey: Guitar and vocal
Stefan Andersen: Drums (Stefan played on the “Revolutionary Sympathies” album and also on a lot of Movement tours)
Chandu Chodavarapu: Bass (Chandu played bass live with Lukas Sherfey)

The Movement is excited to go on tour again and you can excpect an energetic and powerfull live performance with old songs as well as new material!

After a break with different solo projects etc, the Movement is back and ready to MOVE!

With the European welfare systems in decline, and the global economic crisis, it is our job to bring hope, unity and good music back to the people!

The Movement is currently working on new songs for a new album, planned to be released somewhere in 2011. More info about that soon.
